Quick Installation
- Verify your system requirements.
- Download the VX self-extracting installation file and save the file to your favorite "download" folder.
- You must be 'administrator' or have 'administrator' permissions to install the VX software.
- Double-Click the .exe file from your favorite “download” location.
- VX will unzip itself to a temporary folder and the installation will launch.
- Click on the Install button from Setup dialog box.
- Select "I Agree" to accept the License Agreement.
- Click "Next" until the software installs or choose the "Quick Install" and choose "Next".
- The installation may take a while. When the installation is complete you will be prompted to "Run VX".

Installing a License Key

- The first time you launch VX you will need to get a valid license or you can run VX in Demo Mode (no save, print or export options) or Viewer Mode (simplified menu with viewing and measuring options)
- You will be provided the following options...
- If you select "Install a 30 Day Innovator trial license," the VX program will send your system ID to the license server and automatically install a 30 day license for a full commercial version of VX Innovator and launch VX.
- If you received an email with your license string, select "Install a new license key." The following form is displayed.
- Copy and Paste in the 40+ character license key from the on-line license generator or from the License email you were sent.
Where Do I Get A License Key
When you purchase VX CAD/CAM, you will need to get an annual license. Supply your System ID (MAC Address) to passwords@vx.com or your local reseller. The license will be generated from your System ID and sent by VX Corp or from your reseller to the email address of the primary contact. (see How do I get my System ID below).
For VX 14.01 or earlier get a 30 Day VX Innovator license from www.vx.com/30daytrial.cfm
How Do I Get my System ID / MAC Address?
There are three easy ways to find it.

Method 1: Download VXSysID Tool - it will extract your Network ID automatically Method 1
Download and Run Executible:
- Click HERE and select 'Save File'
- When the download completes, extract and run VxSystemMacAddress.exe and copy/paste the MAC address into the Network ID field above.
Method 2: Through the VX License Installer Heading 2
Through the VX License Installer:
- If VX is installed, use your Windows Start Menu to navigate to All Programs > VXCorp > VX xx.x > Setup
- If VX is not installed, run setup.exe from your install CD or your extracted ZIP file.
- Click 'License Manager' on the VX Setup console
- Click 'Get System ID Number'
- Write down the 2nd string, the Netword Card ID.
