Mark L. Vorwaller
President & CEO,VX Corporation
Mr. Vorwaller co-founded VX Corporation in 1985 and headed up a group of talented software and mechanical engineers. He became president and CEO of VX in 1993. During his tenure at VX, Mr. Vorwaller has overseen the growth of VX from a handful of employees to a leading developer of design-through-manufacturing solutions with offices and partners worldwide.
Mr. Vorwaller has guided the development of three generations of CAD/CAM products at VX and was the architect behind VX End-to-End™, a powerful hybrid modeling technology integrated with high-speed, feature-aware 2-5 axis milling. VX End-to-End is specialized for the design and manufacture of consumer products and molds.
Mr. Vorwaller’s ongoing vision has been to develop highly functional, productive and extremely accurate software tools to meet the needs of design engineers and manufacturers. He is committed to continuous innovation in CAD/CAM technology.
A recipient of “Technology's Fast 25" in 1998, Mr. Vorwaller was given a Brigham Young University "Honored Alumni Award" in 1996, served as a member of its Mechanical Engineering Advisory Board from 2000 to 2007 and joined the Advancement Council for Engineering and Technology in 2007.
Robert J. Byrnes
Vice President of Research & Development, Chief Technical Officer
Mr. Byrnes was appointed vice president of research and development and chief technical officer for VX in 1993, with overall responsibility for product design and technology development. In his role, he oversees the development of VX CAM products, contract development, recruitment, third-party integration, translators and Windows NT development. Prior to assuming his present position at VX, Mr. Byrnes was director of CAM software development.
At VX, he innovated and implemented object-oriented and process-centric CAM architecture for VX products. Prior to joining VX, Mr. Byrnes was director of software development at INCAD, where he developed advanced surface milling techniques. In addition, he has held similar software development positions at Harris Corp. and GE Calma.
Mr. Byrnes has won numerous in-house awards for assisting customers and innovating products and is a contributing author of “Handbook for Solid Modeling” (McGraw-Hill 1995). He earned the B.S. degree in applied mathematics with physics concentration from the University of California.
Bob Fischer
Vice President, Sales & Marketing
Mr. Fischer is vice president of sales and marketing and has overall responsibility for sales and marketing programs, strategic and business planning and for building awareness of VX and its products on a global basis. In this role, he is charged with advancing VX’s business development, sales programs, customer relations and product strategy as well as global communications and messaging.
Mr. Fischer has over 20 years of experience in international CAD/CAM sales and marketing. He joined VX in 1999 after eight years as president of Weber Systems (a CAD/CAM vendor) and eight years as president of Omnitech Machine Inc (a CAD/CAM reseller). He enjoys an excellent track record of building/motivating sales teams, recruiting/managing resellers and closing major accounts in CAD/CAM industry internationally.
Mr. Fischer holds a Universities Certificate of Design degree from the Ontario Ministry of Colleges and has earned numerous continuing education certificates in both business and industry. He is an accomplished public speaker and is fluent in English, German and French.
